Our philosophy:
We handcraft each bar the traditional way, using slow-rendered grass-fed tallow and pure goat’s milk for a soap that’s as gentle as it is effective. Unlike commercial soaps that strip away natural oils, our tallow soap supports your skin’s microbiome and moisture balance, leaving it soft, hydrated, and nourished after every wash.
How to use:
Lather the bar between your hands or a washcloth, cleanse, and rinse thoroughly. Allow your soap to dry between uses to extend its life.
Ingredients:
Grass-fed beef suet tallow, raw goat’s milk, local Swartland olive oil, organic coconut oil, dried rose petals, lye (saponified)
What is tallow, and why do you use it?
What is tallow, and why do you use it?
Tallow is rendered fat from grass-fed, pasture-raised cattle. It closely mirrors our skin’s natural structure, making it deeply nourishing and easily absorbed. At Rootd, we render our own tallow in small batches for purity and control. You can read our full blog post on tallow here.

Keep your products in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. If the climate is very warm, you can refrigerate them temporarily. Always keep lids tightly closed, and avoid introducing water into the jar, as this can encourage mold and shorten shelf life.
