Hey, I’m Jade. Founder of Rootd... Rootd is more than a brand to me. It’s a way of living that honors what we put on our bodies just as much as what we put in them.
I’ve always been drawn to health, nourishment, and the quiet wisdom of the body. That curiosity led me many places, working in a health store, creating content for wellness brands, and trying nearly every diet under the sun. Keto, vegan, fasting, low carb…
I kept searching for the thing that would make me feel whole and well.
But instead of feeling balanced, I felt more disconnected than ever. Hormone swings, painful acne breakouts, and a constant sense that something just wasn’t right. On top of that, I had struggled with eczema and very dry skin since childhood - the kind treated with prescription cortisone creams that soothe for a moment but leave the skin thinner, weaker, and more fragile over time.
Eventually, I realized I needed to step away from trends and look backwards, back to nourishment that has stood the test of time. I began delving into ancestral nutrition and the way our great-great-grandmothers lived. They didn’t track macros or count calories. They weren’t afraid to eat. They honored their curves, their cycles, their softness. They moved daily, lived closer to the earth, and knew how to truly nourish themselves from the inside out.
And their skincare was simple.
No 7-step routines. No synthetic actives.
Just tallow! Rich, stable, deeply compatible with our own skin.
A balm that supported the body rather than fighting against it.
So I began making my own. I removed seed oils from my kitchen and from my skincare. I rendered grass-fed suet tallow by hand and whipped it into a cream for my face and body. Slowly, my skin changed, calmer, clearer, more resilient. My eczema faded. My breakouts healed. My skin felt nourished. For the first time in years.
I shared it with friends and family.
My husband loved it and kept telling me, “You need to share this.”
And so Rootd was born.
Rootd is not just skincare.
It’s an invitation back to simplicity.
Back to nourishment.
Back to your body.
Back to the earth.
Every balm is made in small batches, with grass-fed, regenerative tallow rendered in-house, slow-steeped herbs, and ingredients gentle enough for the whole family.
This is skincare that reminds us:
You are meant to thrive.
You can glow naturally.
You are allowed to feel at home in your skin.
